Fosi Audio Celebrates Nine Years With Four New Audio Products

Fosi Audio is marking its ninth anniversary with four new products spanning portable audio, desktop HiFi, physical media and streaming.

The new lineup includes the Carbon12 In-Ear Monitor, ZH1 Desktop DAC & Headphone Amp, DISC Nano Portable CD Player and S3 Lite Streaming Digital Transport. The Carbon12 features a 12mm carbon-fiber dynamic driver and titanium-alloy housing, while the ZH1 is aimed at desktop listeners with support for PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz, DSD512 and up to 2,000mW of balanced output. Perhaps the most interesting addition is the DISC Nano, a compact portable CD player with a partially exposed disc design. It includes wired 3.5mm and 4.4mm outputs, Bluetooth transmission and MagSafe compatibility. Fosi calls it the world's smallest portable CD player. The S3 Lite, meanwhile, is designed for existing HiFi systems, adding streaming capabilities through USB, optical and coaxial outputs while supporting eight streaming protocols.
Why It Matters
Oh boy, I love Fosi Audio gear. I am already listening to the GR70 while writing this, so seeing the company branch into more categories is especially interesting.
The biggest curiosity here might actually be the CD player. Physical media is getting a renewed wave of attention, and Fosi is jumping into that space with a decidedly modern take. The DISC Nano's unusual design certainly makes it stand out, but the bigger question is whether it can make portable CD listening genuinely compelling again. The ZH1 DAC and headphone amp also looks interesting on paper, particularly at $149.99. Fosi has built a reputation around delivering a lot of hardware for the money, and we're curious to see whether that formula translates as the company moves further beyond its traditional compact HiFi gear. And that DISC Nano? We definitely want to get our hands on one. The Carbon12 and ZH1 are expected in late September at $149.99 each, while the DISC Nano is also priced at $99.99. The S3 Lite is available now for $199.99.
