Flowtica has introduced the Verso, a magnetic AI voice recorder that attaches to the back of your smartphone and features an always-on e-paper touchscreen. Designed to make meetings and everyday conversations easier to keep track of, this device can record audio, generate transcriptions, and display summaries and follow-up tasks directly on its screen. Unlike typical AI recorders that rely heavily on a companion app, Verso aims to keep important information visible without requiring users to constantly unlock their phones.
At the center of the device is a 259 PPI e-paper touchscreen housed in an aluminum-magnesium alloy frame weighing approximately 70 grams. It's compatible with MagSafe-equipped iPhones and can also be used with Android phones using a magnetic ring or compatible case. The display is designed to be easy to read even in direct sunlight, so there's no need to hunt for shade just to check your notes. And thanks to its low power consumption, it can keep important information in view without draining the battery like a regular phone screen. Alongside its display, Verso features four MEMS microphones and a contact microphone, with a claimed pickup range of up to five meters and support for identifying as many as 15 speakers. Recording starts with the press of a button, and a visible indicator remains on the screen whenever audio is being captured. The device can record in-person conversations and phone calls, while online meeting recording is also supported through Flowtica's Mac desktop app.

After capturing a conversation, Verso uses Flowtica's cloud-based AI to generate multilingual transcriptions, identify speakers, and organize discussions into summaries, action items, and follow-ups. Users can also highlight important moments during a recording with FlowMark, making specific details easier to find later. For anything that needs a closer look, the dedicated Ask AI button lets users search previous notes, retrieve information from earlier meetings, and even draft follow-up emails, with answers appearing directly on the e-paper display. And while Verso is primarily designed to attach to a smartphone, it can also be placed on a desk stand, worn on a lanyard, or attached to other magnetic surfaces. Additional features include an NFC digital business card for sharing contact information, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, and 64GB of onboard storage. With USB-C charging and up to 72 hours of battery life, it's designed to keep up with several busy workdays without needing frequent charging.
Why It Matters
We're seeing more and more gadgets that attach to the back of our phones, from magnetic battery packs to little e-readers. Now Flowtica is adding an AI voice recorder to the mix, and it's a pretty neat idea. The built-in e-paper display is what really catches our attention, though. Being able to quickly check meeting notes, reminders, or things you need to follow up on without digging through another app sounds pretty convenient, especially if you're in and out of meetings all day.
That said, we'd really like to see how well it all works in practice. Recording conversations is one thing, but getting accurate notes and having everything show up on the display without a bunch of extra steps is another. If Flowtica can make the whole process feel as simple as it sounds, the Verso could be a handy little gadget.

The Flowtica Verso is available to reserve through the official Flowtica website, with general availability beginning November 17, 2026. Early reservations secure a price of $199, while regular orders will cost $224.25.
Flowtica also offers free and paid AI subscription plans, depending on the features and usage limits needed. Amazon availability is expected in early 2027.
