The F2 combines automated fermentation control, heating and cooling, dispensing and app-based guidance in a single system. Its FermControl 3.0 technology manages temperature, pressure, oxygen control and timing, with an active heating and cooling range of 2–40°C.
For beginners, the machine can use RFID recipe cards to automatically load brewing programs, while an AI Brewing Assistant can guide users through the process. More experienced users can switch to Creator Mode to customize recipes and fermentation conditions.
The system has a standard 5-liter capacity, which can be expanded to 10 liters with an optional module. Once fermentation is complete, the F2 can keep drinks chilled and ready to pour for up to 30 days using continuous cooling and CO2. A dual-gas system supports either CO2 or an air pump, and an automatic counter-pressure filling system can be used for bottling. The F2 is also designed to be relatively quiet at 40 dB, while features such as replaceable tubing and a swappable bar-style tap handle are intended to simplify maintenance and let users customize the machine.
As part of the launch, iGULU is partnering with Danish craft brewery Mikkeller on a Beer Geek Breakfast ingredient kit. The kit includes an RFID recipe card that automatically loads the recommended brewing program for Mikkeller's stout.
The iGULU F2 launched on Kickstarter September 22 and runs through October 31, 2026. Early-bird pricing starts at $469 for the Starter Bundle and $569 for the Creator Bundle, compared with listed retail prices of $924 and $1,124, respectively. Backers are expected to begin receiving units in December 2026 through early 2027, while full availability is currently expected in April 2027.
Why It Matters
Countertop drink-making machines have been popping up with increasingly advanced features, and iGULU is taking the concept well beyond a typical coffee or beverage appliance. The F2 is essentially trying to put an automated home fermentation and dispensing system into one countertop machine, covering everything from beer and cider to kombucha and sparkling drinks.
It will be interesting to see how well all of that translates to real-world use. The combination of AI guidance and automated fermentation control could make more complicated brewing approachable for beginners, but the F2 is still months away from its expected full release. With the Kickstarter campaign now underway, there's plenty of time to see how the machine performs once it reaches actual homes.
The price will also be worth watching. Early Kickstarter pricing starts at $469, but the listed retail price is considerably higher, and buyers will still need to account for ingredients and any additional accessories. If iGULU can deliver on the convenience and consistency it promises, though, the F2 could be an interesting option for people who want a more hands-off way to experiment with home brewing.
