Cambridge Audio has introduced the Melomania A100 SE, an updated version of its A100 wireless earbuds that adds Dolby Audio and a new blue color option while retaining the hi-fi-focused hardware of the original. The A100 SE uses Class A/B amplification derived from Cambridge Audio’s CX and EX Series amplifiers, paired with 10mm neodymium drivers. A dual-core Qualcomm Kalimba DSP handles audio processing, while Snapdragon Sound supports low-latency wireless connectivity.

For high-resolution playback, the earbuds support audio up to 24-bit/96kHz, along with aptX Lossless, LDAC, AAC, and SBC. The new Dolby Audio feature is accessible through the Melomania Connect app and is designed to provide a more spacious presentation while improving vocal and dialogue clarity. The A100 SE also features Adaptive Hybrid ANC, six microphones for calls, IPX5 water resistance, and up to 39 hours of total battery life. Both wireless and USB-C charging are supported.

Why It Matters

The older A100s did pretty well in our testing, and the new blue color looks great. We're curious to see exactly where the A100 SE fits into Cambridge Audio's lineup, though, especially since they're launching at the same $149 price point as the current A100s. It'll also be interesting to see how the updated earbuds perform in real-world use. That said, we’d still really like to see Cambridge Audio come out with a solid pair of ANC over-ear headphones someday.

Pricing and Availability

The Cambridge Audio Melomania A100 SE will be available beginning October 2026 for $149 in Black, White, and the new Blue finish through Cambridge Audio and approved retailers.
